What areas does Renew Upholstery serve?
We pick up and deliver across western North Carolina — Lenoir, Hickory, Morganton, Boone — through the Charlotte metro and into Lake Wylie, Fort Mill, Tega Cay, and Rock Hill SC. Most pickups are free with the project.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We give free written estimates after seeing the piece in person or by clear photos with measurements. No work begins without your approval.
How long does reupholstery take?
Most residential pieces are done in 2–4 weeks from pickup. Antiques with frame work or special-order fabric run 4–8 weeks. Commercial projects scheduled around your operations.
Do you provide pickup and delivery?
Yes. Free pickup and delivery on most reupholstery projects within our standard service area, which covers most of western NC and the Charlotte metro.
Do you do mobile or on-site upholstery?
We do mobile work for medical and dental practices, restaurants that can't close, and lakefront marine repairs. Larger jobs we trailer to the shop.
How long has Renew Upholstery been in business?
Founded in 2012 in Lenoir, NC. Family-owned with family-owned upholstery experience. Gary owns the shop and Just Ashton is our primary sewist.
Do you work on commercial and medical furniture?
Yes. Restaurants, hotels, churches, theaters, gyms, medical and dental offices, and chiropractic clinics. We use bleach-cleanable, antimicrobial, hospital-grade vinyl on all healthcare projects.
Can you reupholster boats?
Marine work is one of our specialties — pontoons, runabouts, captain's chairs, helm seats, lounge cushions, snap-on covers. We use UV-stabilized marine vinyl rated for North Carolina summers.
Do you take antique furniture?
Yes. We restore Victorian, Edwardian, and mid-century pieces with period-correct techniques — eight-way hand-tied springs, hide glue, and matching fabrics.
What's the difference between reupholstery and restoration?
Reupholstery is recovering a piece with new materials. Restoration retains the frame, original springs where possible, and period-correct fabric and trim. We do both.
Can I bring my own fabric?
Yes — we calculate yardage and quote labor only. We can also show you our trade-only fabric lines if you prefer to order through us.
Do you do custom cushions and pillows?
Custom indoor and outdoor cushions, slipcovers, throw pillows, headboards, and built-in bench seating. Measure on-site or to a template.
